Mom's Christmas project this year. Every year I (Jody) try and do something really special for mom. For a while it was becoming a joke that I was just doing stuff to make her cry. (Because she was happy, not sad) and what I would be doing to following year to "out-do" myself" This year, the tables were turned and it was mom's turn to do something really special for me. When I was about 10 my mom made me a bear, Patches. He was part of the family and went every where with me. He woke me up in the mornings and would get mad at me when I left him places. Needless to say that after 20 years of being loved, Patches was due for a make over. He was in pretty bad shape. He had to be taken off the bed and put up on a shelf as a "Remember when" which was really sad since he played such a big part in my life. This year, mom decided that enough was enough, Patches needed some major surgery. Patches was admitted into Parkway Hutchinson and given a clean bill of health. He had a nose job, liposuction, tummy tuck, lasiks, and skin grafts. I'm not sure if there is a medical term, but he was restuffed, nipped and tucked. He was a new bear. He still holds the Patches like charm and will now be able to be a part of the family once again.
